Welcome to Buffalo Creek Dairy, nestled in the foothills of the Sauratown Mountain Range. We are a family run dairy. Stacey began farming when he was 16 in 1983 with only 15 cows. I was raised on a tobacco farm. Stacey and I met at a chicken stew in 1988 and 8 months later we were married. As our love grew so did our farm. Today, we tend over 500 acres of cropland and milk around 90 Holstein dairy cows. Our herd today descends from the original 15. It is still a closed herd and our cows have been artificially inseminated for the last 38 years. Farming is our life and we love it.
We have had 3 dogs in the last 30 years. First, we adopted Pepper, a terrier mix. She was sweet and tough enough to fight a buzz saw. Next, we had a border collie named Allie who lived to be 13 years old. She was a great dog. We discovered English Shepherds after Allie passed. English Shepherds have long been good dairy dogs, herding dogs, working dogs of all types. Also, amazing family members. And now we have Cheyenne.
